Q Purpose This assessment activity will allow you the opportunity to demonstrate an understanding of the content presented about mythology, representation in ancient Greece, and the Hellenistic period. SLO A, B, C, and D. Overview The purpose of this response is to focus your attention on how the Altar of Zeus in Pergamon was used to affirm, communicate and enact cultural values and think through how art was used in the past as part of larger cultural concerns. It will help you begin to identify, distinguish, and assess the cultural patterns and historical context of visual arts and begin to examine the philosophy behind the visual expressions as compared to our current world's use of art.
